New branch for ORHMA in Guelph Wellington region
GUELPH, ON—The Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA), which added the Simcoe Country Region board and chapter earlier this year, has added a second new chapter.
The Guelph-Wellington County Region and Area board represents the accommodation, foodservice and attraction sectors in the region. Currently, the ORHMA has local chapters in London, Ottawa, Toronto, Windsor and Simcoe County.
“Expanding our regions is an approach that will bring the industry closer, benefitting not only the local climate, but building a stronger voice in Ontario for the tourism and hospitality industry,” said ORHMA president & CEO, Tony Elenis.
“The Guelph-Wellington County area presents a quality hospitality product and developing a presence in this vibrant region will help foster a strong industry.”

“Given the current political and economic climate, there could not be a more appropriate time to mobilize the business community with a direct link to provincial affairs in the tourism sector,” said Alan Boivin, general manager, Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre and founding chair of the Guelph-area chapter.
“It is critical that a unified voice be heard by all levels of government about the crucial role that the tourism industry plays in our region.”
The new Guelph-Wellington and area board executive is comprised of the following representatives in addition to Boivin: Gary Hallam (vice-chair), Conestoga College, Gord Bossy (treasurer), Holiday Inn - Guelph, Aidan Ware (member at large), Macdonald Stewart Art Centre - Guelph, Lawrence Ong (member at large), Mohawk Raceway - Campbellville, and Karen Cerniuk (secretary), F & M Brewery - Guelph.
