Hotels & Preference expands to four properties in Québec

QUEBEC, QC—Hotels & Preference, a luxury hotel company that has 122 four-and five-star hotels in Europe and North America, is expanding its network of hotels with the addition of four luxury properties in Canada.
These are Hôtel Le 71 and Le Saint-Pierre, both in Québec, and Le Saint-Sulpice and Hotel Le Crystal, both in Montréal.
H&P efforts in North America are led by Jerome Serot, managing director, North America. A French native, he now resides in San Antonio, TX where H&P has its North America headquarters.
He is assisted closely by Antoine DiPaola who is based in Quebec as the national sales director of North America for H&P.
“We had the opportunity early one to be in touch with one of the resorts, Le Saint-Sulpice, which was already using the services of a French group, so there already was a French connection,” said Serot. “It was a smooth transition for a French-based organization to expand outside of France. Our first stage of expansion was Europe, and the second phase North America. Quebec was French from the get-go—people relate well in that market.”
Hotels & Preference ranks its hotels as bronze, silver, gold, platinum or palace. These rankings help address the disparities found among five-star rankings in different countries.
“We own the company,” said Serot. “We’re small enough to have personal meetings with each company—and we’re close to the reaction of clients. We’re not using any outside companies and we’re very picky on choosing our hotels.”
Hotels & Preference was born in the year 2000, said Serot. That means new technologies are entirely integrated into their business.
“We were one of the first hotels to have an online database of our hotels, and we have kept that edge. We are extremely sensitive to Web 2.0 technology. Our 49,000-page website talks about our business and is a tremendous tool for our members.
“All of our staff come from the hotel business and understand the needs of hoteliers,” he added. The company has close relationships with travel agents, and tries to develop tours with a “personal twist.”
Hotels & Preference’s new Canadian properties
Hôtel Le 71: Established within a prestigious building, and hidden behind a sumptuous 19th century neo-classic façade, the Hotel 71 in Quebec boasts a completely designer interior. With its luxurious atmosphere and contemporary elegance, each of the hotel’s 40 rooms combines original design with neutral surfaces. Visitors reinvent their daily rituals during their stay and benefit from a personalized atmosphere, an abundance of natural light, refined decoration and a panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River and Cape Diamond. Café 71 serves a selection of signature coffees from within a refurbished traditional brasserie.
Auberge Le Saint-Pierre: Located in Quebec’s oldest neighborhood, the 200-year-old facade of Saint Pierre evokes a picturesque hotel, while its warm interiors—enhanced by its hardwood floors, stone walls and visible brickwork—make it one of the most sought-after hotels in Quebec. Its 31 rooms and 10 appealing suites garner admiration, as much for their elegance befitting a high-class hotel as for their incomparable ambiance as one of Old Quebec’s intimate guest houses.
Le Saint-Sulpice, Hôtel Montréal: Neighbour to the famous Notre-Dame Basilica and located in historical Old Montréal, Le Saint-Sulpice is only a few steps from downtown. At Le Saint-Sulpice, Hotel Montreal guests will experience the comfort of a luxurious full-service hotel providing only the finest amenities. Many of the 108 spacious suites have a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The hotel provides ideal comfort for business travellers and leisure guests.
