OAKVILLE, ON—Knights Inn Canada recognized their top performers of 2007 on Sept. 19, presenting awards to six of their 14 properties.

Knights Inn Canada has been focused on consistency, quality, service and support since the introduction of their “Fresh Approach” in 2006; since then they have presented the “Fresh Approach” Award to the properties that exemplify this new focus.  The Knights Inn Richmond Hill, ON was the 2007 recipient and was also recognized for their increase in RevPAR year over year.

 Other award winners include the following:
 
o    Highest TripRewards Enrollment: Knights Inn Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario;
o    Franchisee of the Year: Youngho Moon, Knights Inn Richmond Hill;
o    Heros of Hospitality: Knights Inn Kitchener, ON;
o    “Fresh Approach” Award: Knights Inn Kamloops, BC;
o     Property of the Year: Knights Inn London, Ontario.

Howard Johnson applauds best of ’07

OAKVILLE—Howard Johnson Canada announced their top performers of 2007 on Sept. 16. Twenty-three awards were presented to 17 properties across Canada, recognizing achievements from increased RevPAR to Franchisee of the Year.

“All of our Howard Johnson franchisees are dedicated to quality and service,” stated Howard Johnson Canada president Glen Blake, “but we want to acknowledge those properties that go above and beyond for their guests.”

The Howard Johnson Express Inn—Winnipeg West also received top honours from Howard Johnson International, receiving the International Property of the Year award for Canada.  
Howard Johnson’s Canadian award winners included:

o    Greatest RevPAR Increase Year Over Year: Howard Johnson Express Inn Lethbridge; Howard Johnson Hotel Nanaimo; and Howard Johnson Express Inn Barrie.

o    Highest TripRewards Enrollments: Howard Johnson Hotel Downtown Vancouver and Howard Johnson Hotel Toronto-Yorkville.

o    General Manager of the Year: Dan Carlson—Howard Johnson Express Inn Winnipeg-West (Western Canada); Paul Moran—Howard Johnson Hotel Markham (Eastern Canada).

o    Marketing Award: Howard Johnson Inn & Suites Brampton.

o    Most Improved Operator of the Year: Kirti Shah—Howard Johnson Express Inn Windsor.

o    Franchisee of the Year: Eric Marcon - Howard Johnson Hotel Niagara Falls.

o    Heros of Hospitality: Howard Johnson Hotel & Suites Victoria.

o    “Fresh Approach” Award: Howard Johnson Hotel & Suites, Victoria; Howard Johnson Hotel, Victoria; Howard Johnson Hotel Downtown Vancouver; Howard Johnson Inn Kamloops; Howard Johnson Plaza-Hotel Sudbury; Howard Johnson Express Inn Windsor; Howard Johnson Hotel Aurora; Howard Johnson Hotel Niagara Falls; Howard Johnson Express Inn Niagara Falls; and Howard Johnson Inn Rigaud, QC.

o    Howard Johnson Quality Assurance Award: Howard Johnson Plaza-Hotel Sudbury.

o    Property of the Year: Howard Johnson Express Inn Winnipeg West.
