Hotel investors meet in Toronto May 27/28

TORONTO—The only thing that changes more rapidly than the Canadian hotel industry is perhaps the stock market. That’s one of the reasons the Canadian Hotel Investment Conference is so essential for senior executives and other lodging industry experts who want to keep ahead of the curve and gain timely insights into the hotel investment market.

Now in its 12th year, the conference is a vehicle for delegates to reflect on the various issues that impact the industry and discuss future opportunities and trends through indepth, interactive sessions that are uniquely Canadian.

This year’s conference will kick off on May 27 with its 4th Annual Golf Tournament at Copper Creek Golf Club, a 35-minute drive from downtown Toronto.

That evening, from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. Colliers International Hotels, HLT Advisory Inc. and the conference’s Gold Sponsors will host an opening reception in the Waterfall Garden of the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (shown at left).

Conference sessions at the Hilton Toronto on May 28 include National Round Up: Just The Facts From 2007…And What’s Ahead In 2008 with Lyle Hall, HLT Advisory Inc. and Bill Stone, Colliers International Hotels; and an indepth panel discussion on Managing In Bumpy Times. After a day of networking, breakout sessions and a trade show, the day will wind up with a panel discussing: The Greatest Sea Change In Canadian Hotel Ownership—The entry by major pension funds into the Canadian hotel ownership community.

A portion of the proceeds from the conference is donated to the Canadian hospitality and tourism education programs. Over the past eleven years, the conference has raised more than $850,000.
