New managers for BC Hospitality Expo
George Acs and Heather Angeard of Executive Event Production Inc. are the new managers of the BC Hospitality Trade Exposition
VANCOUVER—It’s a blast from the past for George Acs and Heather Angeard. Less than a decade ago, they were the moving force behind the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association’s annual trade show, and the popular FAB (Food and Beverage) Conference. They left the BCRFA to start their own company, Executive Event Production Inc., launching the EAT! Vancouver festival seven years ago.
Now the team is once again working on a major hospitality industry trade show, this time with an alliance of three industry associations.
The British Columbia Hotel Association (BCHA), the Alliance of Beverage Licensees (ABLE BC) and the BC Lodging and Campground Association have appointed the team as the new company responsible for management of the BC Hospitality Industry Exposition, the Pacific Northwest’s largest trade show of its kind.
Acs and Angeard bring with them over 42 years of trade and consumer show experience and will be a strategic catalyst in growing the exposition to encompass a larger segment of the hospitality industry. Based in Vancouver, Executive Event Production Inc. has its roots in the hospitality and food industry. The company currently produces a variety of consumer festivals, including EAT! Vancouver and EAT! Fraser Valley Food Festivals, that showcase a wide range of products and services to the general public.
“In this time of economic uncertainty it is imperative to continue to develop the Exposition as the one stop source for industry buyers” says James Chase, CEO of BCHA. “Our tradeshow brings together the products and services our industry needs to help them compete in this marketplace.”
Kim Haakstad, executive director of ABLE BC says “Planning for 2009 is underway and I am excited about the wealth of ideas and experience our new management brings. As we look to the future, there are many opportunities for growth and we are fortunate to have found the management talent to realize that potential. EEPI will focus on adding to the relevance of the exposition to our ever changing industry.”
The BC Hospitality Industry Exposition services the needs of thousands of key industry buyers and is a showcase of ideas and solutions, bringing suppliers and buyers together under one roof.
