Tourism Employment Showcase
CHARLOTTETOWN - The Seventh Annual PEI Tourism Employment Showcase took place on Tuesday, February 19th at the Holland College Tourism and Culinary Centre, Charlottetown. The Tourism Industry Association of PEI is very pleased with the turnout of 23 exhibitors and over 625 job seekers ranging from students to mature workers, says showcase co-ordinator April Ennis.
Additional highlights of the event were the delicious mocktails and cooking demonstrations that took place throughout the day.
The goal of the showcase is to offer the general public, post-secondary institutions, and Island high schools, the opportunity to choose from the industry’s various hiring needs. The target is to attract potential employees of all ages, including high school/university/college students, and older workers with a variety of skill levels who:
- can work traditional and/or non-traditional hours;
- are available to work the May to October tourism season; or
- work part-time and/or full-time.
The employment showcase provides the opportunity to advertise, recruit, interview, and hire all under one roof.
