One of the high points of his career came when he was just starting. In his graduating year at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, he received the highest mark in the province.
In 1992, he came to Ottawa where, after several jobs, he landed at the Chateau Laurier Hotel. After that, he was at the Marriott Ottawa Hotel where he opened Merlot, the four diamond revolving restaurant. He was also executive chef at the Delta Ottawa, leading the team at another four diamond restaurant, the Capital Dining Room.
He has found success both as a working chef and a competing culinarian. He has competed nationally and internationally and received many awards.
He has also taught at Ottawa's Algonquin College and raised money for charities.
