Sleep Inns redesigned
LAS VEGAS-Canada's Sleep Inns in Bracebridge and Sudbury will have the opportunity to participate in a chain-wide redesign unveiled at Choice Hotels International's annual convention held May 4-6 in Las Vegas.
"We're excited about it," said Brian Leon, managing director for franchise growth and administration for Choice Hotels Canada. "The look and feel is outstanding, and there's efficiency and use of space."
Asked if there would be more Sleep Inns across Canada, Leon said the chain, which is midway between a Comfort Inn and an Econo Lodge, provides great opportunities across the country. There will be limited new builds-incorporating the redesign of course.
"We're already in discussions regarding new build Sleep Inns," he said.
Bruce Haase, EVP, global brands, marketing and operations called the design "simply stylish" and "amazingly affordable," in his annual conference presentation.
Developed in 1988, Sleep Inn was the first hotel engineered from the ground up to reduce labour costs. From day one, the chain has used a consistent interior corridor design prototype and has been all new construction.
The new design incorporates warm neutrals, fresh graphics, soothing colours and a welcoming and familiar tone to evoke a contemporary residential atmosphere than makes guests feel and home.
Sleep Inn's exterior tower, striking wall graphics, breakfast seating that becomes a more useful and active space throughout the day, an oversized, well-lit work desk with comfortable chair and a flat screen TV are all part of the new design.
