‘Gold to go' at Emirates hotel

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES-Need gold bars, ingots or coins? If you're a guest at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace Hotel, you can soon use your credit card to get some from the first gold vending machine outside of Germany, according to an article in the Globe & Mail. Manufactured by Ex Oriente Lux AG of Germany, the exterior of the machine is coated with a thin layer of gold. The machine offers 320 items ranging from 10-gram gold bars to customized gold coins.  Right now, the machine only takes the local currency, but the credit card option will soon be introduced.

 

Sheraton has telepresence

TORONTO, ON-Sheraton Centre Toronto unveiled its Cisco TelePresence meeting suite last month with a virtual, interactive meeting spanning across two continents.  The Sheraton Centre Toronto joins the W Chicago City Center and Sheraton on the Park Sydney as the first in Starwood's global portfolio to introduce the new meeting facilities, showcasing the state-of-the-art Cisco TelePresence technology.

InterContinental Toronto Centre showcases Metis Artist

TORONTO-The downtown Toronto InterContinental Hotel, located in the heart of the city's entertainment and financial districts, has formed a unique artistic pairing in a partnership with Timothy D. Mohan, the renowned Métis artist. Mohan's original works were chosen to create a stunning lobby art gallery exhibition.

"It's an ideal partnership," says Renaud Payette, general manager, InterContinental Toronto Centre. "Our goal is to provide unique experiences for visitors to Toronto and Timothy's work beautifully showcases the themes of First Nations Culture that enhances guests seeking a connection with the Aboriginal Canadian community."
