Environmentally friendly car parking

Oakville, Ontario-based Ground Solutions is marketing the Eco System, a polyethylene grid system from Germany that can be laid down tile-like and filled with grass or stone.

There are two types of grids: the “on top” product, which has a wider back. It can be laid right on top of the grass or soil to provide immediate support. It can easily be installed or removed.

The more permanent “pro” product has bigger and deeper joints, and is good for more permanent parking or commercial applications.

The load barrier for both products is 500 tons per square metre. With the price of oil-based asphalt skyrocketing, Eco System is cost effective, ecofriendly, durable, resistant to temperature extremes, recyclable, flexible and low maintenance.
