Sheraton Niagara reaps many awards this year
NIAGARA FALLS—Awards keep rolling in for the 4-Diamond Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara Falls Ontario. Late last year, the hotel was awarded the highest score of all Starwood Hotel & Resorts in Canada on the Meeting Planners Satisfaction Index (MPSI) for the second consecutive quarter.
The Index which is used by meeting professionals as a barometer of service, is based on the scores provided by meeting planners and is collected via e-mail survey after an event at the hotel. The survey contains the evaluation of several categories, including food and beverage, overall experience, overall service, comparison to similar hotels, and brand consistency.
The hotel has also received Gold stature for the 18th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards by the readers of the Toronto Sun. This honour has been awarded to the Sheraton on the Falls due to the outstanding quality of service and its location overlooking Niagara Falls. In addition, Sheraton on the Falls is part of the Falls Avenue Resort complex linking Rainforest Café, Starbucks, a Casino and waterpark, and the Crowne Plaza and Skyline hotels, via interior walkway.
Over the Christmas season, marketing for the 20-acre resort complex was aimed at families, says Sarah Vazquez, vice-president, business development/marketing for Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc.
Since the holidays, they have been promoting the complex as a couples’ destination stressing a new spa, wine tours, and interaction with chefs. These include Massimo Capra of Rainbow Room restaurant in the Crowne Plaza, and Toronto superstar chef Jamie Kennedy, whose restaurant will open in the Sheraton in February.
