Colleen Humphreys is Atlific Hotels & Resorts’ new revenue manager, Northern Alberta. Most recently, Humphreys oversaw yield and revenue management of the International Hotel Suites in Calgary. She previously worked for TravelCLICK Canada as senior manager, where she managed key accounts and provided leadership in yield management tactics. Prior to these assignments, Humphreys held reservation manager positions with the Westin Hotel Calgary and the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.

Todd Mallen
has taken on the position of area general manager for Bellstar’ Hotels & Resorts’ growing collection of Westbank–Kelowna resorts, including overseeing management of the brand new Copper Sky Resort when it opens in the spring of 2010. Until the spring, Todd will be acting area general manager for Bellstar’s five resorts in Canmore, Alberta, covering for a six-month maternity leave. Since 2001, Todd was resort general manager of Kelowna’s Lake Okanagan Resort. He joined the staff at Lake Okanagan Resort in 1987.


Lakeview Hotel Real Estate Investment Trust has appointed Avrum Senensky as executive vice-president. Senensky has been with Lakeview REIT as vice-president of finance and investor relations since its inception. Lakeview REIT has acquired 18 hotel properties since 2004 and Senensky has played a key role in securing over $160 million in financing for these acquisitions. He will replace Laurie Etkin who has resigned from Lakeview REIT effective January 14, 2010.


Buffalo Point Resort has appointed three new members, dubbed the “Hospitality A-Team” to its management group: JJ Belanger – chief operating officer, Wayne Parkington – executive chef and food & beverage director, and Randy Stevenson – resort services manager.

Jack Eng Hoi Chew is executive chef of the recently-opened Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. He brings more than 20 years of culinary experience from Southeast Asia and Canada to his new position. Most recently he was executive chef at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites in Vancouver.  He has also worked in China, Malaysia and Singapore.

Patrice Malo
has been promoted to the position of president and chief operating officer at Mont Tremblant in Quebec. In this position, Malo will assume responsibility for all aspects of resort operations, real estate and community relations at Tremblant and he will report directly to Bill Jensen, chief executive officer at Intrawest.


Smith Travel Research (STR) has formed STR Analytics to extend its range of analytical services and creative applications to the hotel industry.  It will be directed by Gregory Hartmann, from offices in Boulder, CO. Hartmann heads a team that includes seasoned hotel data analysts and consulting veterans Steve Hennis and Carter Wilson, along with senior professionals holding advanced degrees in a variety of business disciplines.
