Supply Lines ~ April 2010
VANCOUVER, MONTREAL—Now, finally a designer shoe created specifically for hotel employees. Available with accents of pink, which is emerging as a hot colour for Spring 2010.
Canadian shoe designer John Fluevog has collaborated with Opus Hotels to create The Porter Shoe, designed and created exclusively for the hotel properties.
Opus Hotels, with luxury boutique properties in Vancouver and Montreal, has a reputation for personality, flair, and individuality. Always being on the cutting edge of cool, both John Fluevog and Opus Hotels found themselves on common ground.
Fluevog and John deC. Evans, owner of Opus Hotels, tirelessly mixed children's paints until the perfect, pleasing Opus/Fluevog/Porteresque shoe hue appeared. Embodying design, style and originality, the Opus Hotels Porter Shoe is made in Portugal with Italian Analine Leathers and branded with Opus Hotels inside. Featuring black patent with a dark pink leather.
The shoes will be showcased in the hotel lobbies and will be worn exclusively by valets and male guest service associates at Opus Vancouver and Opus Montreal. In true hotel fashion, the shoes will be featured on the hotel mini bar menu. The shoes are available in limited numbers in all 10 North American Fluevog Shoes stores and online ($329 CA and $279 US).
