Vancouver Park Inn a finalist
VANCOUVER-—The Park Inn Vancouver, British Columbia, was a finalist for Park Inn 2009 Global Hotel of the Year award.
This award is given annually by Carlson Hotels as its highest honour to one Park Inn in the global portfolio that achieves the highest levels in revenue generation, product quality and guest satisfaction.
The Park Inn Vancouver is a full service hotel with 117 rooms and suites that is located south of downtown Vancouver with dramatic views of Charleson Park, False Creek Bay and downtown Vancouver. Great shopping is within walking distance of the hotel, three blocks away, on Granville Street, and there many fine restaurants and the Vancouver General Hospital complex.
The Park Inn Vancouver was nominated as the North American representative for several reasons. The hotel achieved the distinction of having the highest occupancy for all Park Inns in North America, the highest average daily rate in the system and achieved an “excellent” class rating for guest satisfaction. Additionally, the hotel achieved, in a weakened economy, the distinction of growing their market share by 8 per cent year over year, as measured by Smith Travel Research.
The hotel has high engagement with the Park Inn brand, often being used to test the newest brand identifiers and in-room products for Park Inn and solid, long term engagement with local charitable organizations in the community.
The Park Inn has a modern, contemporary décor, with a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spacious meeting space, complimentary high speed Internet, and daily Globe & Mail are other amenities provided by the hotel. The general manager of the hotel is Lee McIntyre and the hotel owner is Deepak Ruparell of Silver Hotel Group.
