Online revealed conference in Calgary
CALGARY—Even if you don’t remember his name, you’re sure to remember his story. Kyle MacDonald is the man who started by offering a simple red paper clip on the website Craig’s List and, one year and 14 trades later, ended up with a house.
It’s only fitting that he is the keynote speaker for the third annual Online Revealed Internet marketing conference. This conference brings together Canadian tourism professionals and online marketing best practices, and takes place May 12-14, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Calgary.
“MacDonald’s story highlights the kind of buzz that is possible when taking an innovative approach to online marketing and new mediums such as social media,” said Patricia Brusha, co-founder and co-chair of Online Revealed Canada. “It reflects how powerful new media and the Internet has become.”
The conference is a joint project of Brusha’s company, A Couple of Chicks e-marketing and Yahoo Canada. This year’s format includes 25 speakers, workshop leaders and travel professionals. New this year is streaming of the breakout sessions according to expertise. The four tracks include beginner, intermediate, advanced emarketing, and the new strategy development track. This track brings all of the pieces of web development together for experienced Canadian tourism professionals.
With speakers from Yahoo! Canada, The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), Travelocity, Marriott Canada, Travelzoo and many more, this event will cover a variety of topics including, search engine optimization, paid search marketing, social media marketing, website analytics, new media technology and other trends in marketing tourism online.
