Fonseca to speak at OAA and Resorts of Ontario

ORILLIA, ON— Ontario’s new tourism minister Peter Fonseca is the featured speaker at both the Ontario Accommodation Association and Resorts of Ontario annual conferences.

He will address the OAA Honours Banquet the evening of April 14, at the Casino Rama Hotel, Orillia.

On Wed. April 16, he will be the luncheon speaker for Resorts of Ontario Conference.

“We are honoured to host Ontario’s new Tourism Minster at our annual event,” said OAA president Bruce Gravel. “He has made some welcome major announcements about our industry in recent weeks. Our association is committed to working with him and his Ministry to revitalize our struggling industry.”

The two association conferences bookend the ninth annual SAXibition Marketplace trade show. New this year is an interactive online floor plan. Delegates and exhibitors can go to www.saxibition.ca. By clicking on a booth space, they can see the exhibitor’s name, all of the products they have at the show, and any show specials. If they want to view exhibitors by product grouping, they can click on the product groupings listed on either side of the floor plan, and all exhibitors in the selected category light up.

The online SAXibition Marketplace, brainchild of the OAA’s Scott Gravel, will continue for six months after the show day. Clicking on exhibitor booth spaces during this period, innkeepers will be immediately routed directly to the exhibitor’s homepage. This makes it easy for innkeepers to take advantage of any post-show specials that exhibitors may offer.
